Varnishing

Protecting the wood without freezing it.

Varnishing forms a transparent film that protects the wood against wear, stains and moisture. Well applied, it leaves the grain of the wood fully visible and develops a patina over time.

Finishes

Matte, satin or gloss — depending on the light in the room.

Finish

Matte

A very natural look, close to oil. Ideal for contemporary interiors and large, well-lit rooms.

Finish

Satin

The most common compromise. Discreet, warm, enhances the grain of the wood without reflections.

Finish

Gloss

A deep, luminous look. Reserved for noble wood floors and rooms that stylistically own it.

What I use

Two-component polyurethane varnish, water-based.

I work exclusively with professional water-based two-component varnishes, with high mechanical and chemical resistance. Two to three coats depending on expected use, with sanding between each pass.
